Winter break, Alamogordo, NM
Back to Alamogordo, NM for a few days. This time to take in the ceremony honoring our son to Major in the USAF.
Mountain biking on the agenda, of course. White Sands National Monument.
Only did a little bit of riding, wasn't sure if it was really allowed, but had to try it.
Leaving Holloman AFB.
You know, riding a bike isn't all that bad and idea no matter what the reason.
Around Alamogordo, NM.
The middle guy recognized my CORP (Capital Off-Road Pathfinders) mtn. bike jersey....a good buddy of his also belongs to CORP and is a friend of mine from Madison, WI. Small world sometimes.
Large cement spillways to control the water when it washes down from the canyon draws. Took a few short cuts across them.
Ped and bike park. Desert Foothills Park.

Among the Wild, Arrowhead 135 Film Documentary
Back in 2012 a small independent film company, Adventure Minnesota Films got a Kickstarter beginning and their first project called "Among the Wild" was filming 3 racers, one on bike, one on foot and one on skis, in the Arrowhead 135 Ultra Marathon held in northern Minnesota. It's a 135 mile race held in the dead of winter in one of the potentially coldest spots in the Lower 48, Internation Falls, MN.
The film Company it looking to get some exposure and also spread the word on the race and one of the "adventures" available in Minnesota and the Midwest in general.
If you or someone you know would like to have a showing let me know via commenting on this post and I can connect you with the Producer to discuss details.
It can be used as a draw for a fundraiser, charity or just for fun or to raise money for your Club.
Many local theaters will normally allow a local non-profit group to use their facilities free of charge or for a nominal fee.
Trailer for the film.
Synopsis of the race.

Battle Royale!
Late fall means doing all what one can to do to be prepared to survive winter.
The yellowjackets want to add to their food supply while my bees want to keep what they worked for.

Collarbone update.
Before:
3 months after. The hazy stuff between the break is new bone forming, especially noticeable lower left part of the break and the thin line from the broken point down. Dr. says the point will be absorbed down into the main part of the bone in 12-18 months.

Fall ride 2014 Grandkids
Our weekend to take care of the grandkids. Lynn had other plans with with the female "Outlaws" on her side of the family. That left me solo-sitting.
What to do? Ride bikes, walk in the woods and work on back yard project.
Ready to Rumble!
Stopped so Hobbs could get a drink.
Who needs a baby bottle when there are bike water bottles available?
Running track is tiring!
A walk in the woods.....
The start of the project this summer....had to put on hold at this point until my shoulder healed.

Bike Packing, 'Sconnie Fall Ride
Met a couple of friends, Todd and Scott (Bear) from Barneveld, WI (just west of Madison) in the middle of their 10 day jaunt around WI.
I met them about 45 miles NE of Plover at The Dells of the Eau Claire Co. Park.
From there we rode 2 days covering about 230 miles ending up at Trempaleau, WI.
From there they continued on SE towards Barneveld with 2 more days of riding and I went NE back to Plover, about another 120 miles.
Great fall ride on various roads, bike paths (rails to trails) some paved, some not. Toss in a few gravel roads and we got to see it all.
Faster than a locomotive and stronger than a speeding bullet....or is that reversed?
