After the x-cal came unglued, my xm Roady radio died and my bike rack suffered some damage, all this week. The bike rack break-down could have been catastrophic as I would have lost the bike off the back of the STeed, but I caught it in time. Had to visit a farm supply store and get some U-brackets. Easy solid fix.
Taking the x-cal to the bike store Friday to see what my options are and found a Roady on CraigsList for $15, so all in all, things are turning out OK.
The view north from my motel deck of Lake Superior, Chequamagon Bay in Ashland, WI this AM was sweet.
